Since their sold-out debut recital in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, The Malkin Duo, comprised of sisters Anat Malkin Almani on violin and viola and Bracha Malkin on violin, has given recitals in Argentina, Colombia, Israel, Italy, throughout the United States and in Uruguay. Their performances have brought rave reviews and have been broadcast on international television and radio. The Duo has given the world-premiere of David Ward-Steinman’s Concerto for Two Violins in Sherwood Auditorium in La Jolla, California; has performed with members of the Israel Chamber Orchestra in the Tel-Aviv Museum and has soloed with orchestras worldwide. The Duo has also been the winner of numerous competitions, including the 2003 Trinity Concert Series Auditions, which entitled the sister duo to a recital in St. Paul’s Chapel at Ground Zero in New York. The Duo also performs annually as guest artists at the Academy of Music Festival in Nyack, New York.

The Malkin Duo has an expansive repertoire, including works for both two violins and works for violin and viola. In addition to their regular concert schedule, Anat and Bracha are actively involved in community outreach and educational programs, performing annually in various venues.

In his book entitled Violin Virtuosos from Paganini to the 21st Century, Henry Roth named both sisters as two of the “gifted young violinists who are among the vanguard leading the march of violin art into the 21st century.» Critics have said of their playing that “not only can such interpretation/insight bring momentary joy to the listener; it will leave a footprint in his soul.» The Malkin Duo’s first disc is scheduled for release in 2010.
